Three Incredible New Clematis
If you missed them in the Clematis Conundrum Pre-Order, here is your second chance. The three Clematis highlighted below are, in my opinion, among the most exciting and distinctive of all Clematis cultivars. We have all three available now at the Phoenix. 'Rebecca' and 'Sweet Summer Love' have hit the scene in just the last few years and are at the cutting edge of Clematis breeding. We offered 'Tie Dye' about 8 years ago but have never been able to offer it since. Now is the time to snap it up before it disappears agaain. Have a look at these three superlative vines!
||'Rebecca' - This amazing Clematis comes from Raymond Evison, the most famous Clematis breeder of the moment. 'Rebecca' is the reddest of all large-flowered clematis. When 'Rebecca' emerges she spends the first few days in tones of fire engine red and blue red with hints of magenta. This is shown in the picture which was taken at the nursery this past weekend. After a few days the flower will turn to a red-magenta colour which is no longer a true hot red but is still down right luscious.
||'Tie Dye' - Clematis 'Tie Dye' is rare but one of the most distinctive of all large-flowered clematis with amazing purple flowers feathered and striped with pale lavender or white. Every petal is different. A profuse bloomer, 'Tie Dye' is a group 3/C cultivar that will bloom twice a season.
||'Sweet Summer Love' - Small, multicoloured flowers of purple and fuchsia are sweetly fragrant and produced by the hundreds or thousands in summer and fall. This is a large grower to 10-15 feet or more and is the colourful counterpart of the white sweet autumn clematis, C. paniculata (terniflora).
