Made in the Shade Alert
from Phoenix Perennials
April 27th, 2013
Celebrating our 10th Anniversary Season!
Hello Shady Characters!
Our Woodland Treasures area is now stocked with amazing shade plants.
We currently have various kinds of hardy lady's slippers in bloom like Cypripedium formosanum (the easiest of all species to grow), 'Gisela' (pictured right), 'Sabine Pastel', 'Victoria' and more.
Also in orchids we have various Calanthe orchids in full bloom right now like Calanthe discolor, C. Takane Hybrids and C. sieboldii. These spikes of cute flowers are easy to grow.
There are also fantastic arisaema or cobra lilies, Hosta 'White Feather', toadlilies, Podophyllum or may apples, different Solomon's seals and the amazing Pteridophyllum racemosum which looks like a fern but is actually a flowering plant with spikes of white cupped flowers.
Now is a great time to get excited about unusual shade plants and find some treasures for your own garden. Here's a picture of our Woodland Treasures area.
See you soon at the nursery!
