Mid December 2016

Celebrating our 13th Anniversary Season!

Hello Fellow Gardeners!

It is only five days until Christmas and Phoenix Perennials has your back for Christmas gift-giving. Why not sit at home and do your shopping from one of our fabulous pre-orders?

We've just added four hellebore pre-orders too! From edibles, to hellebores, to clematis, and magnolia, we've got something for everyone, even people only a little interested in gardening.

And you can download an attractive certificate from all of our pre-orders to give to that lucky someone on Christmas Day.

(This all goes without saying: Who is the most important gardener in your life? Well, you are, of course. So feel free to arrange for Santa to bring you some of these pre-order items too!)

Also, we are now offering 10% off gift certificates. You can take advantage to save on your Christmas gift giving or, do what smart gardeners do, and buy one for themselves. We're still not sure why every Phoenix customer doesn't buy one for themselves at Christmas time and save an automatic 10% on 2017. You know you're going to need plants. ;-) You can order an in-nursery certificate or a mail order certificate.

Our annual Phoenix Perennials Garden Photo Contest is on with more prizes than ever! You could be one of 10 gardeners to share in $500 in prizes. Five gardeners who receive the most votes for their photo will each win a $50 gift certificate. Get your entries in ASAP since the earlier you do, the longer your photo will be up for voting. An additional five gardeners will each win a $50 gift certificate as Gary's favourite photos. Details are below. Get your entries in!

Cheers, Gary and the Phoenicians

P.S. If you're a landscaper we are open by appointment through the winter. Send us an email at phoenixperennials at shaw.ca to set up a time.

Eleven Pre-Orders for Your 2017 Garden
and for
Christmas Gift-Giving

Last year our December pre-ordering options were very popular with many plants booked by avid gardeners excited about locking in cultivars that they covet for the new gardening season ahead.

Also, many people bought pre-order plants to give as Christmas gifts for those gardeners in their life. The lucky recipients had all winter to dream about their lovely gift and plan where to put it in the garden before picking it up in the spring at the nursery - a bottle of wine or box of chocolates is consumed and forgotten but the gift of a pre-ordered plant comes with incredible anticipation followed by the longevity of a living thing that will grow and become more beautiful or more delicious over time.

This year we are launching many of our previous pre-orders early to give you the option to book in now on Hellebores, Citrus (with a greatly expanded list), BrazelBerries, Clematis (also with a greatly expanded list), and Grafted Veggies like 'Ketchup 'n' Fries' and Mighty Matos or to give them as Christmas gifts. We have also added new pre-orders on Gourmet Potatoes and Mushrooms, Tea Plants, and Magnolias.

Give the Gift of Plants: For each of our pre-orders we have created a full colour certificate that you can download, fill in, and give to that lucky gardener in your life in place of the plant they will receive in the spring. They can put it on the fridge and think how wonderful you are every day until pick-up time. They can also use the certificate to pick up their plants.

Here is what some of the certifcates look like:

Thank you everyone for participating in our pre-orders. For you it is a convenient way to acquire the plants that you desire in advance from the comfort of your own home and to be able to better plan your garden. For us at Phoenix Perennials it really helps us to gauge interest and adjust our growing and our orders up or down so we have the right number of plants on hand to meet your gardening wants and needs. Cheers!
