Celebrating our 14th Anniversary Season!

Hello Fellow Gardeners!

We are half way through November with the season of Christmas parties, festive cheer, and time spent with friends and family just around the corner. Are you feeling stressed yet? ;-)

Have no fear! Phoenix Perennials is here!

We can help you with your Christmas decorating with all of our workshops at the Christmas Hurrah! Choose between three different wreathmaking workshops (Christmas Rose Wreathmaking, Birds Nest Wreathmaking, or Picture Frame Wreathmaking) or our Centrepiece workshop or our Outdoor Container workshop.

We can also help you spruce up your garden with our Christmas Rose Pre-Order of winter blooming hellebores.

And we can help you with your Christmas shopping with our newly launched Clematis Conundrum and Mighty Mato Pre-Orders. Or we are also offering 10% off gift certificates now until December 31st!

Are you feeling more relaxed now? We thought so.

(Just between us and you, you can also buy hellebores, Clematis, Mighty Matos, and gift certificates for yourself. It will be our little secret.)

And if you're looking for fame and fortune, we've got you covered there too! We are pleased to launch our annual Phoenix Perennials Garden Photo Contest! You could be one of 10 gardeners to share in $500 in prizes. Five gardeners who receive the most votes for their photo will each win a $50 gift certificate. Get your entries in ASAP since the earlier you do, the longer your photo will be up for voting. An additional five gardeners will each win a $50 gift certificate as Gary's favourite photos. Details are below. Get your entries in.

And, if you're feeling worried that you haven't finished prepping your garden yet for winter, we've got you covered too. At least with some advice. Gary has been on Breakfast Television on CityTV and Middays with Jody Vance on Roundhouse Radio talking about that very topic. Have a watch and take a listen below!

Cheers, Gary and the Phoenicians

SEVENTH ANNUAL
The Christmas Hurrah!

Celebrating the Christmas rose, Helleborus niger, and its winter-blooming friends with fantastic hellebores and special holiday-themed workshops!

Friday to Sunday December 1st to 3rd, 2017
10am-3pm
(Please note these special winter hours.)

This year we are excited to continue our tradition: The Christmas Hurrah! The inspiration for the event comes from combining a recent innovation in hellebore breeding with an old tradition from northern Europe.

A Recent Innovation

The recent innovation is the Gold Collection cultivars of the Christmas rose, Helleborus niger, from the breeder Heuger of Germany that show incredible vigour and floriferousness relative to older forms. They also start blooming in November and December in our climate, much earlier than the common Christmas rose.

An Old Tradition

The old or traditional inspiration comes from northern Europe where the Christmas rose is brought inside the house in pots to grace Christmas tables and displays or given as party gifts over the holiday season just as we would a pointsettia in North America. Unlike pointsettias, the hellebores can be planted out in the garden in spring for years of enjoyment.

In our Christmas Hurrah! Pre-Order you'll be able to purchase blooming plants of various Gold Collection Christmas roses plus other cultivars to keep your garden blooming from January through April.

You'll also be able to participate in various workshops to doll up your hellebores with some festive decorations and plantings and take them home to adorn your house or garden or to give as gifts. Check out our fun and festive workshops. It's one of our favourite weekends of the year.
