Common Name: Glossy Abelia Family: Caprifoliaceae (The Honeysuckle Family)

Notes:
Arching reddish brown canes and small, glossy dark green leaves with masses of pale pink to white, lightly fragrant flowers in early summer, usually with a second flush in fall. The pink to red calyces (sepals) persist on the shrub after flowering making a nice contrast with the foliage which can turn purplish bronze.
