Notes:
The Japanese irises offer the largest flowers of all iris groups with very interesting colour combinations. They prefer full sun and moist soil. 'Azuma Kagami' has bluish white flowers with fine, lilac veins and purple stamens.

Dry sandy plains near lakes, meadows, clay-solonetz places in steppes and solonetz meadows. Marshes, ditches and wet grassy places.
