Notes:
A very elegant woodland plant native to most of North America east of the Rockies. In spring pure white, star-like flowers centred with yellow stamens arise from the soil clasped by the interesting leaves. The star of the spring woodland garden. The common name arises from the juice extracted from the root of the plant which is bright red. Nursery grown.
