Phylliopsis hillieri 'Sugar Plum'
Common Name: Phylliopsis Family: Ericaceae (The Heath Family)

Phylliopsis hillieri 'Sugar Plum'
Zoom In Photo:

Notes:
x Phylliopsis is an intergeneric hybrid between Phyllodoce and Kalmiopsis and is thus properly preceded with an “x”. But what is really important is that this low-growing, evergreen shrub is smothered in deep pink, bell-shaped flowers in midspring and often repeat blooms in early summer and again in fall. A spreading mounding plant, x Phylliopsis has fine dark green foliage and likes all the same conditions as heathers. It needs well-drained acid soil. Excellent in the alpine garden.
