Variety pradhanii is the rare Sikkim form of this species. It is the choicest (yes, that is a word in horticulture!) and most beautiful form with a stunning contrast between the dark chocolate-purple background and the yellowish-green markings of the spathe which is up to eight inches across! A. griffithii resents summer heat and moisture. Plant it in a dry, partly-shaded position or at the base of a shrub or large tree.
