'Hameln' is the oldest cultivar of P. alopecuroides and a useful dwarf with mid green foliage to about two feet topped in summer and fall with pink-tinged white feathery plumes that fountain outwards from the foliage. Blooms earlier than the species, making it a better choice for gardens with a short growing season. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens.
