A giant woodland lily from Japan with bold heart-shaped leaves to three feet tall. Much hardier than the Himalayan C. giganteum and hardy in much of Canada. The spikes of showy white flowers with red and green accents rise to four to six feet in summer in the year that the bulb reaches flowering size. Each bulb blooms only once and then dies but daughter bulbs are produced in their year of bloom. Rich, moist soil, woodland conditions.
