Small, egg-shaped clusters of blue flowers are subtended by blue bracts and blue stems. A great thistle-like plant for accent, texture and conversation! Great in hot, dry locations. This peculiar genus from the carrot family is widespread with its centre of diversity in South America with additional species in Europe and North America.

Geogrpahical Origin:
Europe and Western Russia
Native Habitat:
Dry soils in eastern Europe. Locally common in orchards and cultivated areas in Kashmir at 1700m. A weed of disturbed habitats at 500-1500m in Tibet.
