Smilacina pallida

From creeping rhizomes rise arching stems of alternating long elliptic leaves, terminating in a panicle of white flowers in May to June, followed by fleshy red fruits which turn purple with age. Requires partial shade and moist well-drained soil. An outstanding and dramatic large perennial species.
