This variety has deep green foliage flecked with pink and white later fading to green with mint green markings. The pinkish buds open to green outward-facing flowers. The foliage is tough with spiny edges and makes a good evergreen presence in the garden and containers. Deer resistant.

Europe and Western Russia
Native Habitat:
Shorelines, roadsides, woodland, maquis, exposed mountain tops, hillside pastures and occasionally in stream beds.
