This species is one of the tastiest and is commonly grown in the tropics. 'Possum Purple' is a self-fertile selection with exceptional flavour and mind-blowing flowers. Grow in full sun. Plants may be hardy in coastal BC in protected microclimates where the stem is planted/buried 6 inches deeper than the soil surface of the pot. Will fruit in containers that can be protected in winter in a sun room or as a houseplant.
