Dramatic evergreen architectural plant that rewards one with exquisite cup-shaped, apple-green flowers in late winter and early spring. Use as a fantastic entrance-way focal point or plant it in view from a window where you can see the flowers lighting up even the darkest and rainiest of spring days. Prefers more sun than H. x hybridus and niger. In the wild found only on the islands of Sardinia and Corsica. Deer resistant.

Europe and Western Russia
Native Habitat:
Shorelines, roadsides, woodland, maquis, exposed mountain tops, hillside pastures and occasionally in stream beds.
